With 68% of consumers making their purchase decisions at the point of sale (POS), it is easy to understand why manufacturers want eye-catching and appealing stands to display their products.
How does corrugated play a role? Well, two corrugated displays were among this year’s winners for the POPAI POS Awards and are great examples that illustrate the strengths of this material.
The first winning display is an advertising stand paying tribute to the 100th anniversary of Alfred Ritter GmbH. (Top picture) It is a giant stack of Ritter Sport chocolate bars cleverly representing the range of their products.
In using corrugated board, companies can create stands that are intricate and colourful as well as easy to construct and lightweight. Plus, once the stands have outlived their purpose, they can easily be disposed of through the recycling stream.
The second winning display is for air-filled seat cushions manufactured by TOGU®. (Picture left) The display gives consumers easy access from all sides and the Z-shaped central wall offers TOGU® space to communicate the product’s benefits.
The display’s components are neither glued or tacked and can easily be assembled in store. Plus, due to corrugated’ strength and the Z-wall, the stand is very stable and durable. Once it is no longer needed, it can be just as easily be disassembled and recycled.
Corrugated board is a versatile material, which can offer more to companies than just a packaging solution. It is also an appealing, cost effective and sustainable means to advertise brands and products. Its adaptable structures and colourful printability captures customer attention and entices purchase. Its limit is your imagination.
