In the UK, supermarket chain ASDA has recently started a trial with the sale of a corrugated box filled with `less than perfect looking` vegetables. The veggies are oddly shaped, curved, smaller or larger than average. By selling `wonky vegetables` the supermarket chain aims to contribute to preventing food waste by helping farmers get more of the crop on the shelves that is otherwise rejected and thus indirectly helping to prevent food waste.

Asda`s take home box sells at £3.50 which is at least 30% cheaper than standard produce. It is roughly the size to supply a family of four for one week.
